Arts, Wine and Jazz Festival
Third weekend in May- See artists representing visual arts and fine crafts in all mediums. Enjoy tasting a variety of wines and listening to live jazz.
Georgia Wine Country Festival at Three Sisters Winery
Every weekend in June- This event celebrates the many resources of “Georgia Wine Country.” Enjoy wine tastings from Georgia wineries and around the globe, live music (bluegrass to classical to jazz), gourmet foods, folk art, farm exhibits, live demonstrations.
Dahlonega Trail Festival
Second weekend in September this festival celebrates hiking and the Appalachian Trail nearby. For outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, mountain biking, orienteering and more. Has speakers, authors, workshops, music, food, vendors. Six Gap Century Bike Ride Across the Mountains
Sept 26th- A 100 mile bike ride through the mountains. Also a 3 gap 50 and a valley ride. Two night minimum required. Info at http://www.cyclenorthgeorgia.com/
Gold Rush Festival
3rd weekend in Oct.- Dahlonega’s largest festival. Thousands come to celebrate Dahlonega’s 1828 discovery of gold. Over 300 art and craft exhibitors gather around the Square and Historic District in support of this annual event. Included are a 5K road race, fashion show, gold panning contest, wheelbarrow race, King and Queen Coronation, hog calling, buck dance contest, gospel singing, wrist wrestling and many other exciting events. This is the largest of all Dahlonega Festivals. Two night minimum required.
November 6 thru 8. Attend this great festival and help save the Hemlock Trees. Live bands, exhibits and more. This is the most unique of the Dahlonega festivals with it’s outdoorsy theme. Visit http://www.lumpkincoalition.org for more information.
Old Fashion Christmas
The colorful and beautifully illuminated historic downtown square forms the backdrop for wonderful Christmas activities. One of Southeast Tourism’s top 20 seasonal events the annual celebration provides fun for everyone. Shoppers are entertained with caroling, hospitality tables, and activities through the weekends before Christmas.
